Leuven, 16 September 2026 – Arvesta is proud to announce a new partnership with Vivent Biosignals, a Swiss pioneer in the field of AI-driven plant monitoring. As the exclusive distributor for Belgium and distribution partner for the Netherlands and France, Arvesta is making Vivent’s innovative technology available to professional growers in greenhouse horticulture, fruit growing and other specialised crops.

The partnership aligns with Arvesta’s ambition to support agricultural entrepreneurs with innovative solutions that contribute to higher yields, a more efficient use of fertilisers and crop protection products, and more sustainable food production.

The plant as the primary source of information

Whereas traditional monitoring focuses on measurements of soil, water and climate, Vivent goes one step further. The technology directly measures the electrical signals from the plant itself. Using biosensors and artificial intelligence, these signals are translated into actionable insights regarding stress, nutrient deficiencies, diseases, pests and the plant’s response to cultivation measures.

For example, the sensor detects certain forms of stress or pests days before any visible symptoms appear.

“Growers now have access to more and more data, but lack insight into how the plant itself reacts. Vivent is changing that. This unique technology literally gives the plant a voice. By providing real-time insight into the condition of the crop, Vivent helps growers make faster and better-informed decisions about irrigation, fertilisation, climate control and crop protection.

This enables problems to be tackled earlier, production resources to be deployed more effectively and yields to be better protected.

The technology is already in use in more than 25 countries and is utilised worldwide by growers, research institutions and manufacturers of crop protection products and biostimulants.

“Thanks to artificial intelligence and machine-learning models, we can adapt quickly to the changing needs of growers worldwide. Together with Arvesta, we want to give even more farmers access to this technology, so that they can make better decisions, protect their yields and get a better return on their investments,” says Fernando Derossi, Global CEO and Partner at Vivent Biosignals.

Added value through the combination of technology and crop-growing expertise

According to Arvesta, the real strength of the partnership lies in the combination of Vivent’s technology and the practical cultivation knowledge and advisory expertise of Arvesta’s strong brands: Sanac, Hermoo, Benfried and Alliance.

“Technology alone is not enough. It’s about linking the right measures to the insights provided by the plant itself. Thanks to our many years of expertise, we can guide growers from insight to results,” concludes Evy Jacobs.

Among those backing the further development and international roll-out of the technology is the Agri Investment Fund (AIF), which invested in Vivent Biosignals in 2025 to accelerate its commercialisation.

Further practical trials to follow

Over the coming months, Arvesta will gain practical experience with the technology alongside growers, with the initial focus on Belgium and the Netherlands. Case studies from Belgium, the Netherlands and France will be shared in a subsequent phase of the collaboration.
